Derek was frantic to find his missing daughter, Amber, who had vanished a week ago. Despite police efforts, there were no leads.
On his way home, he spotted a homeless woman with Amber’s backpack. She said she found it at the bus station, and inside, Derek found a note with an address labeled “Hostess Family.” He drove there, but the woman confirmed Amber hadn’t arrived.
Feeling lost, he returned home and saw his ex-wife, Miranda, in a café. After initially denying it, she confessed when Derek found Amber’s inhaler in her bag.
Amber ran out, and Derek chased her down. “I’m so sorry, Dad,” she cried. He hugged her, saying, “It’s okay. But you’re grounded for two weeks.” Amber smiled, feeling safe and loved again.
